Wow. Color Me Impressed.

They remembered!

I’m quite touched.

Update: And, in a conversational speed bump, I would like to note that I’m starting to believe that Castro is either dead or extremely ill. I find it odd that the Cuban government is making lots of “he’s feeling wonderful” kind of talk, but there hasn’t been a recorded message or picture taken of him that I’ve seen. I believe that the government is consolidating power behind the new leader before telling the world that Castro has either died or been incapacitated by infirmity.

Of course, that’s treading dangerously close to a conspiracy theorist’s shiny foil hate, I suppose, and I won’t be shocked if I find out that I’m wrong. But the situation does have sort of an odd feeling to it.

And you make the “It’s my birthday” post late at night so everybody else misses it.  Devious.

There’s no tinfoil involved in skepticism of pronouncements of the Cuban government, especially considering conspiracies are part of the makeup of totalitarian governments.  “Bush is scheming to keep himself in power forever”:  tinfoil hat territory.  “Castro’s brother is scheming to keep himself in power forever”:  well, duh.

Thank you all--this was a good way to end what was, otherwise, not such a great week.

I appreciate the well wishes, happy birthdays, and nude pictures.

Heheh. Just kidding…

Out of curiousity, what did you end up getting from iTunes?

on Aug 08 2006 @ 05:32 AM

First I downloaded the first part of the Blade premier. I’ll be getting the second half some time this week after I’ve had a chance to watch the first part. Then I downloaded Peter Murphy’s album Dust. Because I sort of dig the ambient Indian thing that he’s doing lately. There was “Revolution Song” from the Soulsavers just because I wanted to hear what they sounded like. And I still have some dollars left for random purchases of 70’s and 80’s songs where there is absolutely no way that I want to hear the whole album.

Good stuff.
