Rocky Mountain Blogger Bash 5.5: The Summer Edition
That’s right, it’s time.
Start clearing your schedule for the night of booze and brilliant conversation (and the next morning of hangover and mild regret). The specifics are still falling into place, so keep watching here and at Andy’s for more information. Banners and graphics--so you can kindly help publicize the event--will be coming along this week.
And don’t forget to RSVP so we have a good idea of who is coming.
Now, with that in mind, have a wonderful Independence Day. Stay safe, try not to blow your fingers off, eat something barbecued, and don’t forget to spare a moment considering what America’s independence has meant for you and for the world.

Dude, I’m totally RSVP’ing! Provided, that is, someone will be so kind as to spring for a cab for me…
TOGA! TOGA! TOGA! TOGA!
Errr… I mean…
RSVP! RSVP! RSVP! RSVP!
See? That’s what happens when you come home from work and your roommate is watching Animal House at the most opportune moment.
Count me in, Mr. D.
Shannon, you tease…
Rae, I had heard a rumor that you were going to be coming in; it will be good to see you again.
Off Colfax, I look forward to seeing you in a toga. Oh, wait, that’s not right…
Oh, good. This goes onto my calendar immediately.
By the way, we never did get together for lunch. Are you still working anywhere near me (44th & Kipling)?
Not saying I won’t show, but since ya can’t even smoke in a friggin’ bar anymore (not that I’m bitter) what is the point?
Any tobacky friendly blogger have a house big enough to host the usual motley crew?
& don’t worry - I’ll get to the “centrally located” thing. Just figured the
slap in the face to basic Lockean property rights theorysmoking proscription was more pressing. As to the non-smoking thing… David, I told you to try and have this before the ban went in, remember? But c’est la vie, no? I’ll stock up on Revel before the ball starts, regardless.
Unless we go to a place with an outside area, like the Minturn for 4.5. Then we really wouldn’t need to worry about it. Maybe Rock Bottom this time around? And going to RB would have an additional benefit… I won’t walk down 16th Street Mall wearing a toga.
Hey, Cheyenne isn’t all that far ...
I’d rather return to the Minturn than go to Rock Bottom. I went to the RBB for the Reasonoid meetup, and that place is way too crowded and noisy for an enjoyable evening.
But you know me, I’ll show up anywhere that doesn’t serve Guiness.
I believe I am available that evening for some light refreshments and polite conversation. Or perhaps some car-bombs and arm wrestling.
But I just finished my hangover from the last time...and I need to be assured that JG has a leash or a handler....I was scared. How’s about the Whiskey Bar? Never been there but it looks cool...plus..THE WHISKEY BAR!!!!!
Hmmm. I just talked the wife out of a long shakedown trip for her new-to-us car, but that’s mainly because I didn’t want to go to Virginia and D.C. The beach at Jekyll Island, much more attractive and a much shorter drive.
I could try to talk her into Denver instead ("Seriously, it’s not that far!”) but I don’t think it’ll work.
Updates? Is it confirmed for the 26th? Any cool banners in the works?
We’ve pretty much agreed on venue and now I’m just waiting on the date. As soon as I get it--and I’ll talk to Andy in the next day or so--I’ll get the graphics together and put up a brand, spankin’ new post with more information.
Sorry for the slackin’.
