Resurrection Song Readers, I Give You…

...your “hunch play”

Emerald Downs - April 22th, 2005 - Race 2

horse= “Rezarection Time”

Actually, I wouldn’t bet a first time starter myself, but that’s ok. Different strokes and all that.

At any rate, I encourage you all to become borderline degenerate gamblers on the first Saturday in May. It’s a proud American tradition! We’ll do a quick once-over of the competitors beforehand, and hopefully you’ll end the day richer than when you started.

Thanks Jo. I’d love to place my first-ever Derby bet on this fine choice of a name.  Living in Colorado, how do I make that happen?

I think I have an obligation to play that horse.

Yeah, Jo, how does this work?

on Apr 21 2005 @ 08:20 AM

OK, here’s how it works: Rezarection Time is just now having his very first race, which will happen tomorrow at Emerald Downs. So, he won’t be in the Kentucky Derby. I was just struck by the name. smile

You can bet online with these reputable sites (located in the US)

xpressbet.com

youbet.com

tvg.com

TVG will probably your best bet for the derby, and for Emerald Downs too. So for ZB, if you want to bet your hunch play, sign up for an account with TVG. Do it soon, so you can bet your horse tomorrow. smile

But I highly recommend just going down to your local off track betting establishment for Kentucky Derby wagering. They’re usually sports bars here. In Colorado, it looks like visiting here

http://www.wembleyco.com/aboutus.shtml

might help find a place to wager nearest your home. Englewood or Havana Park nearby?

Anyway, “live tellers” are very helpful when it comes to first-time bettors. Plan to go in the morning of the Derby, so you don’t get shut out.

Since I can’t access gambling sites at work what kind of odds are we looking at?

on Apr 21 2005 @ 08:51 AM

Trench-

Too early to say for sure in both races...true odds only come about once bettors are wagering.

What we can reference for Rezareaction Time’s race are the “morning line” odds, which are the “probable odds” for the race. Those will be available later this afternoon. I am assuming the horse in question will go off at high odds, like 10-1. We’ll see.

to all:

kentuckyderby.com is a great website to visit...everything you could want to know about the history of the derby is there.

Odds? We don’ need no steenkeen odds!

on Apr 21 2005 @ 09:07 AM

morning line is only 4-1. Interesting.

on Apr 21 2005 @ 10:48 AM

I’ll lay money on 4-1.
