Please Pardon the Profanity (Updated)
But that is seriously fucked up.
Update: In fact, if I had a shred of kindness, I’d kill this post so that you never click that link. Sadly, this is one of those things so wrong that you really want to share it with everyone you know.
But don’t share it with your boss. Visually speaking, it’s work safe. The textual of the thing might give you nightmares, though.
It is a joke, though, right? Please?

Well thank you for putting THAT in my browser cache!
("It’s not what you think, honey!")
Dude, that’s like TWO beers you owe me now.
Well, it’s nice to see WestWord catching up. This was on Fark, or Aberrant News, or ... I don’t remember where, about year ago or so. The Lulu link is legit, with a copyright date of 2008. Unsurprisingly, This item has not been rated yet.
Anyways, I’m disappointed in Westword. I expect a review of a cookbook to include at least one try at a recipe.
My boss would probably laugh his ass off.
Yuck.
Anyway, yeah, Robin, I’m pretty sure I do owe you an extra beer or two.
I hate you for posting this. Seriously…
Wow! And now I don’t need to eat today. Would it be wrong to say this cookbook was spawning anorexics?
Yes. Yes, it would be wrong. It would be pretty funny, though.
Jerry, you probably should hate me for this. It was knowingly cruel. My only defense is that it was one of those things that I felt compelled to share. So it’s probably God’s fault.
We need to think of a group punishment for David this weekend.
Although Jennifer is a close second with the “spawning” pun.
Ooh, close second. Have a drink for me this weekend
I’m hoping it doesn’t include its own recipe for Jello Wigglers.
It comes uncomfortably close to the chapter in this cookbook that discusses cannibalism.
Well, David was not punished last night. We all gave him a pass because of our sympathy with him, since he’s Steve Jobs’ bitch.
Oh. I wondered what he was stroking in the corner. Just his phone, eh?
BTW, as proof of my failing mental state, the book I was trying to recall was by William Gibson, not Phillip K. Dick. And I hadn’t even had more than 1/2 a beer at that point. And probably the reason I couldn’t bring Eye in the Sky to mind was that I read it immediately after The Lathe of Heaven. And I put Old Man’s War on my list of stuff to get from the library when I get tired of Dick. And I highly recommend the rifter stories by Peter Watts.
Oh, and thanks for the beers, ZB. I think I owe you a 12-pack by now.
"Oh. I wondered what he was stroking in the corner. Just his phone, eh?”
This comment thread just gets better and better…
“Since he’s Steve Jobs’ bitch.”
And don’t I look stunning in that little black dress he bought me? Probably should have shaved my legs, though.
“Oh, and thanks for the beers, ZB. I think I owe you a 12-pack by now.”
No problem at all. It was a fun night.
If I missed you with unshaven legs in a little black dress, it’s probably for the best that I was home coughing my lungs up. As they used to say in the Grade B Horror Movies, “There are some things man is not meant to know.”
TW: past41. Yes, long past.
jed, if you are looking for some SF recommendations, I got a bunch I can recommend for you. If you like big idea, epic, galaxy-spanning science fiction, I’ve been enjoying Alastair Reynolds. “Revelation Space” is the best introduction to his series of SF books in that series. “House of Suns” is stand alone. DPL has a fair number in their catalog.
I might check those out. I need some reading that isn’t either political, technical, or business-oriented.
Well, here’s another recommendation for those that like Fantasy: “The Name of the Wind” by Patrick Rothfuss.
Best first novel I’ve ever read. And among the best fantasy novels I’ve read in awhile.
The bad news? Its a trilogy, and the bastard has not finished the second installment yet.
Bastard!
I’ll check it out, though.
And I’m not sure when, but I’m still up for getting the wives together and going to see a little girl-girl orchestrated brutality. If only to punish you for...well, I don’t know what for, but for something.
Girl-Girl? I’m so there.
I like, e.g., Greg Bear. Haven’t read a bunch, and I ought to get the rest of what started with Eon. Songs of Earth and Power was great, I thought. But Eon seems pretty epic. Same thing with Clarke’s Rama, of which I’ve read, IIRC, only the 1st installment.
I actually have an enormous pile of unread books, and I need to get shelves set up someplace so I can at least get some of them unboxed. Unbelievably, since I immensely enjoyed the Baroque Cycle, I have yet to crack the cover of Anathem.
Jeffco libraries have a large collection of Reynolds, so I’ve added Revelation Space to my list there.
I’ve read only a smattering of fantasy since plowing through Tolkien, Brooks, McCaffrey, and a few others years ago. Not that I dislike the genre, but I could spend the rest of my life just catching up on Sci-Fi. I think the last of that I read was when I gave up on the Wheel of Time after the 4th or 5th volume. I’d rather read something more like Tolkien or Saberhagen.
jed, you’ll like Name of the Wind, I’m pretty sure.
Zombyboy, I sent you email about that.
I’ll go back through my emails. I’m a little behind right now.
I told my wife about it. Funny thing is that she’s more in your camp on this one--and I still think you’ll both have a good time.
I’ll send you a note later.
