Lunch Time Hunger

It’s time for lunch and I’m sad. I’m sad because there is nowhere that I know of in Denver that serves a good Italian beef. I’m sitting here wishing I had an Italian beef--dripping in juices, spiced perfectly, messy as hell--from somewhere like Portillo’s in Chicago.

Instead, I’ll eat my SimplyAsia Spicy Kung Pao Noodle Bowl, microwaved to perfection.

On the plus side, at least the noodle bowl is vegan. I’m sure I’m doing my heart a favor by going with the low fat, lower calorie food.

But my taste-buds are pissed.

How about a Sloppy Joe?  I had one of those earlier this week for the first time in years. My taste buds were elated, especially since it was served on a plain white bun instead of the healthier wheat variety. Then, I washed it down with an ice cold beer and some watermelon. You’re right about that Asian bowl thing. It’s not sounding too good to me either. You need to make up for that sorry lunch at dinner time. Talk to you later.

You could try calling in to The Restaurant Show on KEZW (1430 AM - site at: http://www.restaurantshow.com/). If Warren doesn’t know where to find it, he’ll ask other listeners to call in.
