Life in Prison (Updated)
For a woman, an abortion is a right. For a man, it can be a criminal offense.
For a man who, at his girlfriend’s request, helped her carry out an abortion, it is a felony for which the sentence is pretty stiff: life in prison.

I think, because of the method used - that sentence is justified. Plus it doesn’t say how far along the pregnancy was. The dude is obviously a dirtbag, and deserves a lifetime OUT of society.
The point isn’t about what he does or doesn’t deserve, the point is that he was doing it at the bidding of his girlfriend who was not and cannot be prosecuted. That he could spend a life in prison for something in which she was completely complicit, but she faces no prosecution at all seems to be more than a little bit hypocritical to me.
Hmm.
In the eyes of the law the 19 year-old boyfriend is an “adult.” The girl, on the other hand, is still considered a minor at 17.
Why aren’t the parents of a pregnant 17 year-old who punched herself in the stomach hoping to abort the baby being brought into this picture?
Heck, why isn’t NARAL in the picture saying that to convict the boy of murder might set a bad precedent?
You’d think they’d at least get involved to push for “Practicing medicine without a license”, since the whole point of abortion rights is to prevent the back-alley coat-hanger aspect of this case.
