Let the Deconstruction of Jo Begin!

Actually, just since Rae asked…

You’re stuck inside Fahrenheit 451, which book do you want to be?
I think I would want to retreat into something fluffy...Random Acts of Kindness or a Chicken Soup for the Soul book (hey, just bein’ honest)

Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?
Lt. Henry from A Farewell To Arms

The last book you bought is:
Matriarchs

The last book you read:
Wink (See a trend?)

What are you currently reading?
Homegrown Democrat

Five books you would take to a deserted island.

1. The Color Purple

2. The Confessions of Nat Turner

3. Laura Hillenbrand’s Seabiscuit (no, you do not have to love horseracing to love this book)

4. The Stranger

5. Any random Steinbeck title

Who am I passing this off to? The guys here of course.

I bet this list makes me seem mighty boring.

Great list, Jo!  I was honestly very curious whom your literay crush was going to be.  :D

I look forward to seeing which books the guys pick.

Have I ever told you that my second daughter when she was about 4 told me, as we were driving down the road, “Mom, you don’t understand.  I. Need. A. Horse.”

The house we left in MO had three acres and some friends of ours were moving and wanted to give us two (a mare and her daughter) of their horses (quarter horses) because they wouldn’t have room for all of them in their new home.  It just about killed A that right at that time, we found out R had gotten the job here in UT, so no horses.  Someday, though…

I could have sworn I closed that tag....

Anyway, I see that you linked me in the post, but don’t see a trackback ping on the site.

Oh my.  Very bold today, aren’t we?

That must be the extra-protective Blacklist guarding of Mu-Nu.  Sorry, Jo.  They said that trackbacks are treated the same as comments.

I am probably just screwing it up somehow.  rasberry

No.  Really.  One of the downsides of MT.  Over-protective.

Although not invited, I’m self-electing to play.  Got a problem wid’ dat?

You’re stuck inside Fahrenheit 451, which book do you want to be?
Something ironic, like: The New Threat of Censorship, or Things Made Out of Asbestos, or even, Uses for Hemp.

Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?
Does a porn character count?  Okay, okay, but until Rae gave her reaction, I didn’t realize it had to be a literary character.  So probably no one.

The last book you bought is:
Burglar on the Prowl by Lawrence Block

The last book you read:
Barrayar, by Lois McMasters Bujold

What are you currently reading?
This blog.  Heh.  Okay, okay: Some book about discipining your kids for single parents.  Also, Important Events in the History of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.  ...in Chinese.

Five books you would take to a deserted island.
1) How to Construct Sea-worthy, Ocean-going Vessels Out of Simple Tools and Materials Found On a Deserted Island

2) 1001 Solitaire Games (plus deck of cards)

3) Telemarketing for Fun and Profit

4) Long-Distance Swimming

5) War and Peace (I’m probably not going to read it any other way...)

Nathan, you always manage to make me giggle.

3) Telemarketing for Fun and Profit

I hate it when my beach vacation is interrupted by a message in a bottle trying to sell me a timeshare.
