Legion: The Seven Word Preview

Angry angels are gonna kick your butt.*

* None of which seems very biblical, but does look to have a creepy sort of charm. And Paul Bettany is a wonderful (and underrated) actor. None of which counts against my official preview word count, in case you were curious.

I’m there. There hasn’t been a good Angel flick since “The Prophecy.” Not counting, of course, the last season of Supernatural. Whenever a talented writer remembers that Angels are God’s soldiers and they do thinks like turn entire villages to salt, we get some seriously good stuff. Just sayin’…

I don’t know, does not quite match the “Gabriel” of Constantine.

Man, I really enjoyed Constantine (almost as much as I liked The Prophecy)--and I was shocked that I seemed to be one of the few. And, yeah, Gabriel was wonderful in that.

I think I’ll break that out while I’m working tonight.

Well, I’m still not a Keanu Reeves fan, and Constantine seemed to be at the ragged edge of his acting ability but overall I enjoyed the film.  Probably more for the supporting cast.

Keanu is a horrible actor and really only does well where he’s told to play dumb. Constantine was definitely “at the ragged edge of his acting ability.” I honestly didn’t expect to like the movie much purely for that reason.

I’d still say it would have been better with someone else in the role, but the move ended up being good (to me) in spite of his presence. Kind of like how Groundhog Day is a wonderful movie in spite of Andie MacDowell.
