Late Entries (Updated III)

I believe this is the last of the house band entries--which is good. Pretty soon we can go back to talking about the incredible displays of world class pandering going on in the presidential election.

But, first, we have Wheels selection of an enviro-death metal band, TUSK, and their new release Enough to Know Better. Welcome this pond scum (with lovely cover art) to the mix.

If I’ve missed anyone, I’ll post them in updates to this entry.

Update: Two more creative spirits.

Good buddy Craig (who has a new blog--mind your blogrolls) gives us a clown faced camel. Which is cool. The Fellows new album, Live Devoted to Pleasure, might not be quite as cool as the cover.

Joan gives us one of my favorite covers with Quiet Lies You’re Comfortable With It. Beautiful picture.

More Updates:

Left Off Colfax, who reminds me that I missed him in the first round (sorry), brings us Murphy’s Herd’s release, Instincts will be Strengthened.

Stranger, Roberta X, brings us the requisite cheesecake with Walter Marks’ There is Time Enough.

Stranger II, Tam, has Old Settler’s Association and Mile in His Moccasins. It’s odd that the moccasins in question might well be housed on a rhinoceros. But who am I to judge?

Stranger II, Part II, all dramatic and stuff.

I finally got around to it here.

Alright, already. Posted here.

Memes usually come here to die since I don’t call anybody out. It’s fun to see the creative response to this one, though.

I guess mine was buried deep into the morass of comments at the abyss of the original post. Typical.

Pardon me while I dress in all black and threaten to cut my fingernails.

Some of these have art and titles far better than the ones the record company paid extremely big money to design.

Aw, thanks, Zboy! It really was a totally random pick, and was so much fun to pull up, “Quiet Lies” on wiki, followed by the quote and the amazing pic.

Must be my lucky week. I’ll go buy a lottery ticket while I’m at it!

Craig Sprout seems to be having difficulty with his hosting.

Don’t know where the common upstream is, but I encountered a couple more: There is Time Enough from Roberta X, who is a hoot, and Mile in his Moccasins from Tamara, who is also a good read.

Y’all can follow upstream from those for even more.

What kind of problems, Jed?  I haven’t noticed any.

Unless, on the off chance you are a Charter cable customer.  I’ve had to banninate large chunks of that network due to a troll infestation.

Craig, these kind (screenshot).

I retrieved just the http headers, and it’s not some odd redirection happening. I also did a retrieval of the raw html with headers, and don’t see anything like a redirect anywhere.

The IP address for the http://www.craigsprout.com hostname goes back to GoDaddy.

If your site is recent enough, it could be just a DNS propogation issue.

on Jan 15 2008 @ 03:54 PM

That’s weird.  The site has been (more or less) existent for a year, and I’ve not had problem one with it.

What does http://csprout.mtpolitics.net get you?

on Jan 15 2008 @ 04:46 PM

I got the same thing Jed did when I tried it from home (coming through Qwest) and from work (CBeyond). From work, when I try to open the mtpolitics.net address, the browser sits there with a “Waiting for csprout.mtpolitics.net” message for a *long* time.

*slaps forehead*

Domain expired today.  Should be fine tomorrow.

I hope.

Not sure how I missed that.

Thanks for pointing it out to me, guys!

on Jan 15 2008 @ 06:12 PM

Well, that explains a lot.

I was wondering what they were talking about, too.

DNS Caching—a beautiful thing.

Apologies for the threadjack.

on Jan 15 2008 @ 08:09 PM

Oh, c’mon, this thread was kind of jacked from the beginning.

Heheh.

Nothing says “Life Devoted To Pleasure” like a camel with a red pom on its nose.

I shoulda thought of K-Tel. Brilliant.
