Industrial Strength Stupidity Punisher
Okay, some people need to learn the subtleties of the term, “right tool for the job.” Or, maybe they just need to learn the term and start applying it in their own lives.
A US man has injured himself in both legs after attempting to loosen a stiff wheel-nut by blasting it with his gun.
The 66-year-old man from Washington state was repairing his car outside his home when the accident took place.Shooting at the wheel from arm’s length with his 12-gauge shotgun, he was peppered with buckshot and debris.
The man - who police say was on his own and not intoxicated - was taken to hospital with severe, but not life-threatening, injuries.
The most surprising part of this story (to my cynical eyes) was that the man was not intoxicated. That would have explained quite a bit.

Dude, penetrating oil!
Know it; believe it; live it.
This is why we need shop classes. (Or, as I almost wrote, “shot” classes, I suppose.)
ps. A shotgun? We all know that percussive maintenance is better performed with solid projectiles, and you want to shoot the wrench, not the nut. Though I have to admire the fact that when he aimed at the nut, he hit the biggest nut in range.
Dr. Freud: “Zo, you tried to shoot ze nut off, hmmm?”
Ok, so far this week we’ve gone from sweet air guitar to gay assholes to guys who like to diddle doggies to idiots with guns doing auto repair.
Do I need to start worrying about you, Zombyboy?
Wait...are you telling me that this lineup of stories isn’t as entertaining to everyone else?
I need to re-think my blogging strategies…
But at least you’re focusing in on the stories likely to win you credentials. That’s what’s key.
I personally want to know whether shooting the lug nut off worked.
Have I ever told you that I have a tendency toward self-destruction?
No no no, I think it’s freaking awesome awesomeness.
As I understand it, most people with a tendency toward self-destruction abuse chemicals of one sort or another (alcohol, heroin, adrenaline). I’m not sure I’ve seen “self-destruction by wandering attention” before.
