I did wear the uniform near Vietnam. A ship I was on during the summer of ‘72 clipped the corner of the war zone one day. Not enough to qualify for the Vietnam service ribbon, but it got me that month’s salary free of taxes.
Technically, Blumenthal and I are Vietnam-era vets, not Vietnam vets. Seems like I got closer, though.
