I Wish You Could Share this Moment with Me

Sitting in the office, enjoying a warm day, and listening to Metallica’s brilliant instrumental “Orion.”

Oh, Metallica, why have you forsaken the True Path of Metal? Why do you give us St. Anger instead of a worthy follow up to Master of Puppets? Repent and return to the Path and we will forgive your wrongs. Yea, verily, though it will be hard, we will even forgive Load and Reload (although, perhaps not “Unforgiven II” which, at best, we can pretend didn’t happen).

Never. Lars has tainted Metallica for me forever.

Yea, verily, I say some of us will forgive you. Others, not so much.

Orion gets into the rotation when I have to get into “serious hackery” mode.  Crank it loud, and let the code flow…

No. Shit.

Say it loud, Brother Zomby!

The Girl definitely doesn’t like it when Metallica hits regular rotation.

Nothing like that hatred that she has for Queensryche, though.

Sad.

I guess I’m lucky since my wife thinks that Mindcrime is the greatest album of all time.

on Feb 24 2008 @ 08:22 AM

I listened to a song from Queensryche the other day, and Geoff Tate sounded like a parody of heavy metal singers...
Never mind, I don’t want to get banned from Resurrection Song.

Bad Nathan. Bad bad bad.

Next time you’re in town, I’m torturing you with heavy doses of Mindcrime.

on Feb 24 2008 @ 01:40 PM

If you really wanted to torture him play their new album.

on Feb 24 2008 @ 01:50 PM

But I don’t want to torture me.

on Feb 24 2008 @ 01:53 PM

That’s a little bit of asking you to not throw me in the briar patch, you know?  I do like Queensryche’s (Queen’sryche?) guitar work.

Thanks for fixing my screwed up tag, btw.

And I’m also gratified that you mention needing a worthy follow-up to Master of Puppets.  I never really appreciated ...And Justice for All, and Garage Days Re-Revisited was worth about 3 listens before it got boring.
It was truly disappointing, that I found Metallica after Master of Puppets, and then they don’t do anything worth keeping in my library after I found them.

...now, Beatallica?  Maybe.  Just maybe.

My wife actually likes Metallica, well, in a “Hey, you know, this isn’t as bad as most of the crap you play” sort of way.....

on Feb 25 2008 @ 11:04 AM

I think it all started with them cutting their hair and getting very aggressive with the file-sharing.
