Brilliant

The g-phrase bought me a copy of Bernard Goldberg’s 100 People Who Are Screwing Up American (and Al Franken is #37). So far it’s an enjoyable, easy read with more substance than I had expected.

A sample:

They [America bashers] love some hypothetical, idealized America--one that would redistribute wealth and outlaw gas-guzzling SUVs and celebrate every aspect of “multiculturalism” and tolerate every kind of thought and behavior. But they don’t--God forbid!--love the America that we actually live in. Only a simpleton could love that America!

I have a feeling I’m going to enjoy this book.

The g-phrase says that Goldberg’s writing reminds her of me. I’m taking that as a pretty high compliment.

I’m not sure how Goldberg would feel, though…

My wife’s aunt is reading that book and really enjoying it. She is going to lend it to me as soon as she is done, which should be very soon. I looked at all 100 names and I didn’t see any that I disagreed with.

Yeah--I think you’re going to like this one, too.

Is it true he doesn’t list a single conservative? If so, he should at least taken a pot shot at Anne Coulter or Sean Hannity.

Matt--

There are a few conservatives in there.  I saw him on some news show, and it seems like he had Michael Savage and Pat Robertson for starters.  I can’t remember the others he mentioned.

What’s wrong with Coulter of Hannity?

But anyway, it’s a great book and I’m almost finished reading it. I’d recommend it to all. Another one that you guys should check out is Surrounded by Idiots (Mike Gallagher).

First time here, thanks to Stacy (Not a Desperate Housewife) but definitely not my last. I’ll add you to the BlogRoll.

But will you be coming to the Blogger Bash? That’s the real question.

Welcome to the site.

I speed-read through most of it in an hour at the local bookstore. (I feel like stealing when I do this, btw.) It’s a very entertaining read.

Zombyboy:  thanks. Love the name (being a huge horror buff). But anyway, I’m going to try to see if I can change my other plans and make it down for the bash. Unfortunately, it might not happen this time but next time that something like it comes up ... you bet! I’ll be there ...

What’s wrong with Coulter and Hannity? Coulter is a skinny, pinch-faced screecher and Hannity is a blow-dried, self-absorbed airhead. Not much substance there, I know, but I don’t think either of them is particularly good for America.

I don’t know much about Savage, but Robertson is a great choice. That guy in the Springs (Dobson? Focus on Family?) would be another good one.
