Toga! Toga!

Well, I wouldn’t be surprised.

I need dates.  Getting me fitted for a toga is no simple exercise, I’ll have you know.

I’m hoping we’ll have something for you either Thursday night or Friday morning.

Aug 28-31.  Please.  Anytime there-in.  I am coming, for sure, even if I have to walk.  So it is written, so it shall be done.

Seriously, can’t say much about it at this point, but the announcement could go a couple possible ways.

Your help will be appreciated, though, I can tell you that right now.

Not during the first weekend of August, please (although it wouldn’t be if you’re planning on having it around the Dem convention). I’ll be otherwise occupied that weekend.

Don’t worry, I will be on a plane back from the beach that weekend, so out of pure selfishness it won’t be then.

That said, once we have more details, we’ll definitely need all with a blog to promote it.

I don’t see enough empathy for my toga fitting issues here.

In August there are two events you might not want to conflict with, the DNC convention ( I’m not going anywhere near Downtown during that ‘cause I don’t want to get arrested for shooting one of Glenn Spagnuolo’s thugs ) and the Worldcon Science Fiction convention.

The idea that the two were both scheduled for the same place and the same month does present an interesting thought ...

The idea is to have a bash during the DNC. I understand your reluctance, but I know there are going to be some out of towners in for the event and some of them are planning, tentatively, to attend. More information coming in a couple days, though.

As for Worldcon, I didn’t even know about that one.

I feel so far from my scifi roots…

My wife is on the Denvention III (Worldcon) concom.  She’s supposed to attend two-hour phone conferences every Sunday.

Let’s just say that I would have chosen a different way to manage volunteers.

DougS, I’ve got friends who work on Worldcons too.  Chaos is a feature, not a bug.

How about if it’s held during the DNC convention, but pick some spot upwind of downtown where we can all watch the billowing clouds of smoke and tear gas.
