Blogger Bash 5000: The Donkeys Over Denver Edition

With the kind sponsorship of Lijit and with the hard work of Mr. Lady, the DNC edition of the Rocky Mountain Blogger Bash can finally be announced. Thank God.

August 28, 2008
Trios Enoteca
1730 Wynkoop·Denver, CO 80202
7:30 PM to Close

Free Food and Free Beer & Wine
(In limited supplies and only if we like you.)

I’ll be setting up a new site to support this event as well as updating this post with the links of everyone who RSVPs, so be sure to leave a note to let us know that you’re coming. The new site will go live Wednesday evening.

While Lijit has been extremely generous, we are still looking for a few more companies to sponsor food and booze. Email me for information if you’re interested.

And if y’all could just hold off on the official RSVP until our site is up, your good blond friend Mr Lady will lick you with gratitude.

Who cares about “official"…

Everyone knows I’ll just show up anyways.

Yeah, Left, I imagine I’ll stagger in at some point, too. wink

Yea!  I love Enoteca!  Excellent job.  Make sure to bring the cigars.

I’m glad Lijit can help make this version of the RMBB possible. And I’m not about to RSVP because I want Mr. Lady to lick me with gratitude.

Or her tongue.

Tara, you have NOTHING to worry about.  Darren, they went non smoking, but I can try to pull some strings if enough people are so inclined.  I guess we’ll need a cigar headcount.

Well, cool beans, and all that.

I actually don’t know whether I can make it.

on Jul 29 2008 @ 06:22 PM

Jed, I do not accept your terms.

Well, life is what it is.

I rather doubt that Trios will be able do some sort of smoking accomodation. The way Colorado’s smoking ban law is written, it grandfathered existing businesses only if X percent of their revenue was from tobacco sales. As I understand it, though, once they go smoke free, they can’t go back, IOW, they lose their grandfathered status.

Uh, and also, a business loses its smoking-ban exemption, IIRC, if their percent of tobacco revenue drops below the magic number for some sustained period. So, if Trios went smoke-free, it’s probably safe to assume they dropped cigar sales (and cigarette sales, if they were doing that), therefore, their revenue from tobacco sales likely dropped below whatever the threshold is.

Jed, you make a good point, but we CHOSE to go smoke free.  We have ample sales; it was just a decision.  Hence, if we really want to have a smoking room that night, I can try to work that out.  Though, I imagine it would be warm enough outside.  I’ll leave that up to you all.  (And I honestly don’t know if we still carry them, but I wouldn’t suggest buying them from there.  We tend to mark them up too high.)

That’s o.k.  I’m not that big a cigar guy.  I totally forgot about that.  I can still drink there right?
