Apocalyptic Tease
I still think Apocalypto sounds like a comic book villain--and not a very well-named comicbook villain, at that. Seeing the trailer was enough to convince me that I want to see Mel Gibson’s latest, though.
Although it seems odd to me to give a Greek name to a movie about Mayans that will be acted by unknowns speaking Yucatec (one of a number of Mayan languages).

That evil Greek super-villain better not be messin’ with those Mayans!
At least it isn’t a take on the Mayans from the Mormons. They believe some really bizarre stuff about the Native Americans/South Americans.
Total weirdness.
So, you know, Mel’s vision might be refreshing, even if comic-bookish.
To me, it sounds like the movie is about a whole bunch of people dying off due to dancing.
And yet, wouldn’t that be a fun way to go? Right in the middle of the Samba, with the one you love.
