Another in a Series of Useless Observations

It’s a general rule that other drivers are stupid and I am exceptional. Have you ever noticed, though, that other drivers get even more stupid when I’ve just bought a new(ish) car?

Freakin’ irritating…

First day in my brand new Izuzu Impulse I was driving down the highway, perhaps speeding a little bit. As I rounded the bend and headed towards the tunnel entrance I noticed that the car at the mouth of the tunnel wasn’t going to fast. “Hey asshole, you’re in the left lane. Let’s move it.” Then I noticed he wasn’t moving at all. Oh f*ck. I slammed on my brakes. There was traffic to the right so I all I could hope for was that I stopped in time. Then I looked in rearview mirror. If the big honking truck behind me didn’t stop in time it really wouldn’t matter whether I rear ended the other guy or not. Fortunately, we all stopped in time and didn’t kiss bumpers.

So, what’d ya’ get?

See, that’s exactly the kind of thing I’m talking about.

I ended up getting a 2001 Mazda Millenia, and, lemme tellya, what a huge improvement over my last car. Of course, the hand-me-down Chevy Malibu had nearly 170,000 miles on it, so it had well-earned its squeaks, rattles, groans, and sense of impending doom.

I have found that no matter the car, if everyone else would just drive like me, it would make me a much more relaxed driver wink

I just wish there were fewer people on the road. That would be sort of nice…

That’s why I so enjoy night driving.
