There damned sure better be a God and a heaven because I know some people who deserve, after their long lives of anything other than ease, whatever paradise they’ve been promised. People who did their best, who were truly good, and who still couldn’t seem to catch a break.

They deserve something better.

Of course, by the time I find out the answer for myself, it will be far too late for me to be cranky on the subject. Still, I think you get my point.
