A Very Small Eulogy. Of Sorts.
Shawn eulogizes Pete Steele (if you know him at all, I would guess that you’ll know him as the lead singer for Type O Negative or maybe Carnivore).
RIP you twisted bastard. And, since I believe in the power of grace and redemption, I’ll even hope that, as Shawn says, “the Christians are right.” By some reports, Steele had returned to Catholicism over the last few years of his life. For a guy who had problems with substance abuse and depression, at very least, I would hope that it provided some peace and comfort.
Shawn’s right about one thing, though: I’m pretty sure God wasn’t digging on a lot of those songs…
Fair warning: the song gets a little loud and a little profane. Your cube mate might not like this stuff.

I got to see them on their last tour. It’s a shame to know now that it was their last tour.
Trench, good to see you. I drop by your site from time to time to see how you’re doing and I’m glad you’re still out there fighting the good fight.
Anyway, I never saw them live, so at least you have that. I was shocked when Shawn sent out the notice.
Hey, you’re one of my blogging heroes. Got you in my RSS reader. I just don’t do the political thing anymore. Off topic but have you gotten your iPad yet?
Sadly, that’s not going to happen for a bit. I’m far too poor right now to even think about it--although I’m hoping it might make sense later in the year. Why? Do you have one? Are you going to mock me with your iPad?
Damnit.
I’m still amazed that you can stay out of the politics and focus on the crimes. It’s probably safer for your brain at a time like this, though, to be able to distance yourself from it.
Nah, no iPad for me. You’re just my favorite Apple fanboy that I judge all Apple products by your reaction.
I got out of politics when I realized there is no more rational discussion in politics and that there are only shouting matches anymore.
If and when I finally get one, I’ll post a review and send you a note. Fan boy, I am.
And, yes, it does seem that only the shouting remains.
