resurrectionsongFebruary 08, 2005Overreactions 'R' UsAdvocates for the insane joined the stampede to overreaction when it protested Vermont Teddy Bear's "Crazy for You" Valentines bear (complete with cute little straight jacket).
Because, apparently, the advocates for the wacky, unhinged, cracked, and the mad believe that the average American can't make a distinction between a cute little stuffed animal and an actual mentally ill person. Jeez, people, that's just crazy talk. For their part, Vermont Teddy Bear Co. earned mixed results. While defiantly asserting their right to sell psycho-themed teddy bears, they also managed to capitulate saying that they wouldn't manufacture any more of the toy bears. They also offered an apology to anyone who might have been hurt by the stuffed animals--offering up a special apology to those lunatics with a prediliction for sharp, shiny, stabby objects. Heh. Nice "I'm Back" entry :D Posted by: Rae at February 8, 2005 08:14 PMWell I think anyone who pays $69.95 for a teddy bear is crazy...so there. Posted by: Rightwingsparkle at February 8, 2005 09:47 PMCrazy people everywhere, I tell you. And, thanks, Rae. It's good to be back (although the idea of going into work tomorrow isn't really sitting well with me right about now). Posted by: zombyboy at February 8, 2005 10:59 PM |
