resurrectionsongJanuary 25, 2005Beating that Dead HorseI know y'all are probably tired of me going on and on about Social Security reform and privatization. I sympathize. That's why this isn't going to be a lengthy post supporting my position, just a link to a story in the Rocky today. It touches on most of my own beliefs concerning Social Security. Specifically, if I am going to be forced to save for my retirement, how is it that the money I save doesn't actually belong to me in any legal or real sense? Suffice it to say that, if Social Security isn't going to actually be scrapped in favor of letting me keep my own money, then I still believe that private accounts--with the creation of heritable wealth and all the benefits of actual ownership of capital--is a path that is best for individuals and least offensive morally. Keep talking about it. And then when your bored and tired, talk about it some more. If we start now we will actually not have to come up with a much more expensive in 40 years. Posted by: kestrel at January 25, 2005 07:30 PM |
