Odd and Useless Just Barely Post-Mid-Season Broncos Facts

The Broncos have their bye this weekend, just one game past the mid-point of their season. To this point in the year, the Broncos have:

  1. The best single game performance by a quarterback (measured in yards). Jake Plummer, Denver's favorite whipping boy, threw for 499 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions in a losing effort against the Atlanta Falcons.
  2. The third best single game by a running back. Ruben Droughns ran for 193 yards against Carolina. Clinton Portis is number 8 on the list with a 171 yard performance against Chicago.
  3. The best single game performance by a wide receiver. Rod Smith caught nine passes for 208 yards and a touchdown in that game against Atlanta.

What does that mean? Nothing much, really. It means that Denver has talented, but inconsistent, players. It means that Denver has yet again found a running back to surprise and delight the faithful. And it means that the second half of the season still has to be played.

Man, I love football.

I love hockey, too. But, alas...

Football? Football? What the hell is that? I vaguely recall I once had a football team, but I dont know what the hell happened to it.

Football is what Southern college football stars all go north to play for the NFL. At least, that's been the working theory among Falcons fans for years and years...

Looks like the Broncos maintained their standing this week.

Whew. I was worried. Heheh.

Sorry, man. I tried to pass it up, but I just couldn't. :)

So what's the prediction for the remainder of the regular season? I think/fear they'll go 4-3. Which means they should win the division, but with the worst record of all the division winners.
