Weekend Comin'

There was a lot that I planned to write about this morning. More post-election thoughts, more thoughts about tax reform and Social Security reform, and more thoughts about the disdain that the far left has for people like me (thanks to Jerry for forwarding a link to an article that put the emphasis on that thought).

But you know what? Traffic is down a bit, the sun is shining, and it looks like it's going to be a glorious weekend. We've already talked this election to death, the next one is too far away for me to even want to start thinking about now, and so the hell what if some writer thinks that I'm uneducted, deluded, and not even blessed with the critical thinking skills that God gave howler monkeys?

Tonight is Social Distortion at the Fillmore. Oh, yes.

Tomorrow night is the Rocky Mountain Blogger Bash at the home of Denver's best grilled cheese sandwiches. Oh, hell yes.

And Sunday is probably recovery from the pain.

The weekdays are for working and writing and politics, but the weekends are for living. Have a great weekend, everyone. I'll be back Sunday night.

I'm jealous. The Fillmore is a nicer venue than the Agora (although my jealousy has been tempered by the fact that I saw Social D a couple of weeks before you). I jealous as Hell about the grilled cheese.

Worst thing about living in Ohio: New Belgium doesn't sell Fat Tire here. Don't get me wrong, Elliot Ness and Dortmunder are good beers, but Fat Tire is the hometown brew of choice. Feel free to bring me some when you are out here next year.

There will be a Fat Tire care package comin' your way.

I'm surprised that they don't sell it out there, though. I see a marketing opportunity...

I'm guessing that Mike Ness (and a good portion of the crowd) is going to be cranky tonight. I hope that means a good, high-energy show. In the interest of continuing in good health, I'm also hoping that I can keep my freakin' mouth shut.

Good luck with that last part. Seriously. You need it.

Well, as I have absolutely no idea what you two gentlemanly best friends are discussing, I will continue with my thoughts....

Have a fun weekend, and I agree: Weekends are for living :D

We will be celebrating R's 40th, so eat a grilled cheese and drink one down for me.

I promise to consume biscuits and gravy and homemade cake for you ;)
