Comment Spam, The Quagmire

Changing the name of the comment script has reduced my comment spam more than I can tell you. It hasn't stopped it completely, but the reduction has been tremendous.

I am happy.

But some spam is still seeping through. One that came through tonight bears special consideration; it is aimed at defaming a company and certain people within that company.

[Company name removed] (Austin TX) has repeatedly not paid employees their commissions and promised bonuses. [Company name removed] is in arrears with their creditors requiring upfront payment for every order. Employees are currently asking if this situation is caused by [Name removed] (President) cocaine problem. Stay tuned as this situation is only going to get worse. If you are thinking about working for [Company name removed] you should really ask yourself if you are working to get paid or working to get ripped off. If you are thinking about hiring [Company name removed] you should look to your other options. [Name removed] is not to be trusted.

Needless to say, this isn't even close to acceptable. While I doubt that I'm responsible for it in any legal sense, there is no call to be using the comments in any blog to settle some personal grudge. So, while comment spam has been reduced, it would seem that some people are just determined enough to keep my on my toes.
