Friday's Musical Mood

Tired, mellow, and wanting to hear something pretty. This is pretty representative of my day's musical selection. As always, these are iTunes links and will take you to the music store where you can listen to a thirty second clip.

Death of a Train" by Daniel Lanois

I can't think of a more bittersweet song in my collection.

"Prayers for Rain" by The Cure
I've never been a Cure fan, but Disintegration is one of the best albums to come out of the 80's--and this song might be my favorite on the album. Great stuff.

"Don't Put No Headstone on My Grave" by Charlie Rich
Not that I need it, but this is one of the best "we just broke up and I'm miserable" songs of all time. Aside from that, it's from the great Charlie Rich. I mean, c'mon.

"No One Knows" by Screaming Trees
I'm inching toward loud, but I haven't left melancholy behind. From the great Trees album, Sweet Oblivion, this is a song about being just a little bit lost.

"Hole" by Catherine Wheel.
We've nosed completey over into noisy with a healthy dose of mad. This song still sounds like it could have been an angry tribute to Curt Kobain, but that's just speculation.

Okay, I have some music to go listen to now...

No Music for You!

Linksynergy has a tool that I use to build the links. Next time I'll probably just go ahead and build the links the normal way.

Like the design changes, though I'll miss the little stick guy, I really liked him. :)

Thanks, Patty. He'll be making a return when I get a chance, but it will be in a different capacity.

Z, I purchased Zero 7's Simple Things yesterday at B&N. The second bonus track, "Spinning" sung by Sophie Barker, is incredible. Very relaxing....

I agree with Patty. I miss the little ZB, too.
