The VP Debates VI

How many times is Edwards going to mention John McCain? A guy who supports their opponent, but they seem to be trying to leverage against President Bush?

Odd.

Softball question on flip-flops. "What's wrong with a little flip-flopping now and again." Nice of her to defuse that for them...

Okay, it's winding down and getting to the repetitive "we can do better" meme. And it's moving happily into Edwards talking even more about how the government is going to give us more and more stuff and all we'll have to do is tax the rich guys thing. I shudder.

Re-importation may be a good sell with the public, but it's still a horrible idea on a number of fronts (talked about on this site before). But Edwards makes it into a Bush-Cheney v/ the People of the United States of America. It might work, but it's really irritating me.

Edwards' closing statement, a sort of Carter-esque malaise looking around in America "and that light is flickering" thing, is just as irritating. It might not be quite as bad as his earlier "gosh, you must be insane to think about voting for Bush" statement, but it really paints a picture of America that I don't personally see. Is it really that bad out there? Are we really about ready to fall apart? No.

Cheney, on the other hand, is his normal self. Serious business, sure it's tough, thank God we have President Bush. A passionless ending for him, but it does have a certain sense of gravity. He is an interesting guy in my book; very much a throwback to the unsentimental kind of guy in a black suit that used to be so common in government. I don't know how well that plays with the rest of America, but I kind of like it.

No, not odd.

Stupid.

Desperate.

Childish.

But not odd.

Edwards got the hand from Clinton, not Dole.

I agree with your assessment 100%. Thank you for blogging and giving me a place to tell someone how much I love Dick Cheney.

Heh.

Margi, thank you.

Bryan, it still makes me think of Dole's hand holding the pen maneuver. But I see your point.

McGehee, maybe I should have said: "Odd in just how stupid that seems..."

What's odd about Edwards being stupid?
