resurrectionsongOctober 01, 2004Winding DownOkay, cats, I'm all blogged out. I'm tired as hell, still not finished with my workload, a little burned out on the political stuff, and ready for a day off. I'm going to finish listening to the best damned Daniel Lanois album (Beauty of Wynona), go buy myself the new Social D album, maybe pick up one of my old Heinlein novels, and go off somewhere to forget that there actually is an outside world. Have a great weekend, love your families, and breathe some fresh air. I'm going to try to remind myself today and tomorrow that life isn't all work, politics, and blogging. Im right there with ya, Z. The beer truck should be at the house by 5 pm. Posted by: Val Prieto at October 1, 2004 12:29 PMTake care, enjoy your weekend. :) Posted by: Jo at October 1, 2004 01:10 PMEnjoy. A few weeks ago I read Heinlein's first novel, For Us the Living, and realized that it is about time to go back and read through the rest of his stuff again. I think I have read everything at least once over the years but mostly in haphazard sequence. I'll have to dig a few out of long stored boxes and probably go to the bookstore to fill a few gaps. Once I have everything together I'm thinking of doing a chronological read including the juveniles and the short stories. BTW, For Us The Living is ok for the expereienced Heinlein reader. You can see the early development of a lot of his later themes. It is not, though, real strong as a novel. You have a good one. I got some Sean Stewart getting shipped on your review from a couple of days ago, sounds like a great read, but it will be Robin Hobb for me this weekend.
