Responses to the Debates (Updated)

The debates have roused all kinds of emotions and responses. If you follow the links from Instapundit, you'll have already read a lot of the blogs. I'm listing some that probably didn't make your reading list.

I think it's safe to say that Shawn was disappointed.
Ed Driscoll is a bit more upbeat.
Tim pretty much saw it the way I did.
Annika doesn't feel so terribly good about Bush's performance.
IB Bill smacks down on Bush.
Michael King is more moderate in tone.
Patty pretty much calls it a tie.

Overall I still call it a Bush loss. The President could have put the election away last night by turning in a star performance; he didn't. Kerry needed something solid to stay in the race; he did. I doubt that it will move too many voters from one column to the other, but it kept Kerry's hopes alive and it sapped some of Bush's momentum. I can't call that anything other than a Kerry victory, even if only in a marginal sense.

Update: How could I have possibly forgotten Andy's minimalist (or is it absurdist?) take on the debates? Terribly sorry, you know.
