The "Debates" PS

PS--If I were to say one of them won, it would be Kerry. I think that Bush missed some obvious opportunities and didn't always present himself well.

The end.

Okay, not the end.

Margi had this to say and it's worth remembering that many of the viewers didn't necessarily see it the way that someone like me did.

You know, far better educated folks than I will lambast President Bush for stumbling and not speaking as if he were the best speaker on the planet.

Again, I fall back on my personal, gut feeling that I want George W. Bush as CIC. He feels things -- he has heart. And it's quite obvious to me that he simply cannot STAND Kerry. I echo the same gut-churning feeling. I don't like Mr. Kerry, I don't trust Mr. Kerry and I WILL NOT vote for him.

So, all in all, the debate didn't change how I feel. More like it solidified my resolve.

Wrong war, wrong place, wrong time THIS, Senator Kerry! And your little dog (Tah-RAY-zuh), too!

I hate to admit it, but I agree. Kerry won this hands down. I don't agree with what he said, but he definatly performed better.

I'm all ::: blushie ::: ovah heah.

I did listen to what they had to say and I do agree that Kerry won the debate. But that still doesn't mean he won my vote. I'm not sure that he ever could. Maybe I'm being an old, stubborn woman, but remember, please, that my son-in-law is in Iraq and THAT is why I'm most concerned who is CIC.

And I learned a long time ago that the smooth talker doesn't necessarily mean what they say, they just know how to say it....

Agreed Z; Agreed Margi.

Ya'll should come see our caricatures of the Senator. We had a bit of fun during our listening :)

'He feels things -- he has heart. '

This is the bit i disagree with. Im having trouble getting the whole debate, but ive seen parts. To me anyway, Bush was the one that seemed to be sticking to rhetoric and emotion invoking phrases. Kerry seemed to concrete his points, and maybe hes now ended the idea that he is indecisive.

I'm still at a loss as to why we have to resort to ridiculing candidate's wives....from presidential level to local county elections. It's so terribly meanspirited. I think Laura Bush is a stand-up gal, and besides, she's not running for anything. I've got no right to judge her, and neither does the rest of the public. Same goes for Ms. Heinz Kerry.

At any rate, Bush's weak performance was not about him not speaking graciously or from the heart....it was because you could tell he was getting frustrated at several points and didn't have a tight rein on it. Look for that to be a major change in the next debate.

I dont know, read the transcripts and it's clear that Kerry did not win. He just looked better on stage. Bush didnt have to hammer away at Kerry, he just had to let him dig his own grave.

Seriously, the "Global Test?" Pottery Barn Rule? Give the Mullahs nuclear materials and see how they behave? And kerry violated rule number one of debate, he stated "I made a mistake." thats the whole ball of wax right there. Debate over.

For crying out loud. As I stated in Steve's blog, I half expected Bush to interrupt Kerry and say "What the f*ck are you talking about, John?"
