resurrectionsongSeptember 29, 2004Voter Fraud the E-Z WaySean Hackbarth talks about how easy it would be to commit voter fraud in the battleground state of Wisconsin. Posted by zombyboy at September 29, 2004 09:52 AMComments
I know this probably doesn't mean s*** to anybody, but the young people I met who were doing voter registration were the most honest and astute young people I have ever met. They really felt their purpose was important, and knew they were entrusted with a very special role. I couldn't believe how serious and diligent they were. I have no doubts that the people allowed this opportunity take it very seriously. Incidentally, when I went to pick them up, they apologized for being "late" (they really weren't) because an elderly lady had invited them in for tea, and thinking old ladies were probably pretty "safe", they spent over an hour talking to her about her kids, grandkids, departed husband, etc. Outside of them asking if she were registered (she was) politics, parties, and candidates didn't even come up. She was lonely, they felt spending some time with her was pretty important, and I am awfully proud of their humanity and kindness. I just think the folks who do this are really committed to the cause...and the ones I shuttled around who registered some folks as "Republican" just shrugged it off and knew their purpose was more important than getting the votes *they* wanted. I was very proud of them. Gives me hope for the future. Posted by: Jo at September 29, 2004 10:21 AM |
