It will be a tragedy if any of the children die, but it is important to remember that the killers are not the soldiers who stormed the school. The killers are the terrorists who took them hostage, no matter who's gun each individual bullet comes from. You see, the Russians understand what the French, Spanish, and Democrats don't: You don't negotiate with terrorists, you kill them! I want to say that it's gut-wrenching, but that doesn't quite cover it. It's enough to wish for the return of Gulags in Russia. Our political and religious leaders think they have to come up with soundbites to feed the press when they would be better off waiting to collect their thoughts before uttering some clever phrase to soothe ears.
