Last for the Night

I've given my thoughts on the RNC and on Bush's speech, and before I go to bed, I wanted to hilight another person's view.

After sharing more than a few drinks with VodkaPundit and enjoying great conversation with the man, I know that there are significant differences between us on policy and personal issues. That isn't to say that I don't respect his views even when we differ--quite the contrary: the man gives me a mental workout like you wouldn't believe when we've started down that road.

I can also say, without the benefit of beer or a personal relationship, that I have areas of wild disagreement with our current President. I like him, I respect him, and I think he'd be great to catch a game with, though.

And, despite all of those differences, both Stephen and I come to the same conclusion: this is the man to vote for in the election.

You know my reasons--I've laid them out below and over the last year and a half on this site. But VodkaPundit gives it a very different look--a look well worth your time to explore.

Goodnight all, and thanks for keeping these last few days a whole lot of fun for me.

How come we can't get our perfect candidate? It's not fair. The Democrats got exactly what they wanted, why can't we?

On second thought...

Ya know, my mom's been in the ICU the alst few days, but yesterday was quite "with it" and decided last night she wanted to watch some TV. I asked what she wanted to watch and she said "Jeopardy". Well, every channel had the convention on. I said, "Well, mom, it's the convention or a rerun of Roseanne."

She closed her eyes for a moment and said, "it IS really terrible in here!"

I don't know why, but I found that very funny. :)

So, keep your fingers crossed that they'll move her out of ICU today and onto a normal floor. Not only will it mean she's better, but will also mean she can have a room with a VCR. ;)

Jo, I'm crossing fingers, toes, eyes, legs and everything else I can think of.

::: wishing very hard for the VCR for Mom :::
