resurrectionsongAugust 30, 2004If......the stories of these women, whose loved ones died on 9/11, don't drive you to tears, you simply aren't human. Politics aside, the fact is that September 11--the acts of the terrorists and the actions of our country in response--is what this election is about. We can talk about gay marriage, stem cell research, and tax rates, but we still haven't gotten past that moment. From my point of view, we shouldn't be past that moment. The question isn't about what Kerry or Bush did during Vietnam, but what we trust them to do to make us safer over the next four years. Certainly, those other issues are in our thoughts--but, for a majority of Americans they end up on the periphery when compared to the question of the direction the United States takes in its war against militant Islamic terrorists.
