Who Uses Smear Tactics? (Updated)

Read this at blogoSFERICS and answer me this question: is Kerry the worst kind of hypocrite for complaining about smear tactics in the campaign?

I mean, aside from the fact that his campaign lawyers have advised MoveOn.org, or that his campaign made Vietnam an issue (both his own service and President Bush's record) long before the Swift Vets made an appearance on the scene, or that, while complaining that Kerry's war records should be inviolate and that he has "earned the right" to speak his mind, they question the records and try to muffle the speech of vets who oppose him?

Update: And while we're on the subject, Kerry's tactics don't seem to be working thus far. He may want to reconsider the way he is approaching both his campaign and his response to the Swift Vets.

I think he actually believes he's entirely positive and that only the mean republicans are slinging mud. His position of privelage has put him in a cocoon where he is always right and everyone agrees with him. The campaign is doing nothing to alter it. Whenever he is faced with differing views, they simply do not compute.

Damned, evil Republicans.

I absolutely agree with the hypocryte charge. I'm going to add one more: pussy. MoveOn and the other laftie PACs have been slinging dirt at Bush for years - saying things that have just been appalling. We've complained about this extensively. Bush, to use an un-PC saying, took it like a man. The first time that a group says anything about Kerry (and the charges being made against him are a lot more grounded than the things that the leftie PACs said about Bush) the man turns into a whining, crying baby. If this is how he reacts to honest criticism, how would he react to unfavorable polls as President? Suck it up and do what he knows is right, or bend with the whims of every poll?

The more this goes on, the more supportive of Bush I become. I've got the sticker in my car window, now I'm getting ready to order the sign for my yard.

I don't think hypocrisy describes it too well. This complaining about nitpicking about service records from Kerry and the Democrats, after at least a year's worth of "Bush was AWOL" nonsense (pushed heavily by Kerry himself and the chairman of the DNC) is better described as "sheer unmitigated fucking gall ".

Kerry response

Dish it out to you
Can not take it on myself
I'm taking my ball

See it's a cross reference thing. ZombyKu and comments all in one post.

DF, you really do have a way with words.

Shad0, you really do have a way with ZombyKu (which will be updated later today for those who are paying attention).

Much of my comment on the 'earning' of the right to speak would fit just as well here.
