Nickname? (Updated)

A reader who signs her name "diana karina galo diaz" has left a request on the oddly popular Pantheon of Cool Nicknames post.

Hi!!! I donīt have coments but I was asking if you can put a cool, great, good, excellent and perfect nicname.

Please send me my new nickname to my e-mail. please!!!!

Well, being the nice guy that I am, I want to help out. You all come up with the perfect nickname and I'll send it to her.

Any good ideas for the young lady? Let's play nice--so no profanity or outright cruelty.

Update: Thanks to Bryan for helping out with our noble cause.

How about 'Bucky'?

Posted by: spacemonkey at June 22, 2004 03:33 PM

Nancy. I'm sure with a name like that everyone already knows her as Nancy anyway.

How about Freda Fajita (pronounced fah-HEE-taa). That would imply her ethnicity with a pretty cool alliteration and a ryhme.
Or maybe Havana Diana.. same ryhme & rythm.
Or maybe she's a little bit more for the one liners like Panda or Wongo (but Wongo probably wouldn't work because that's Spanish for "loose").
I think we should just call her, "Bill."
Yeah... Bill's a good name.

-Super (aka - TheBanger, aka - Harri)

So Kevin just has to do the Nancy thing. Shit. It'll take me days to get that song out of my head!

I like "Spackle."

How about Dika. That's Deeka.

I'm going to email her tomorrow and tell her to read this post. Heh.

"Sparky".

Or "Fob". I think that's a sadly underused nickname. Heck, maybe Jeff G. should use that as a funny sounding word: Is that your keychain fob? Yes, that keychain fob belongs to me.

Suggestions:

From her name -- DiDi (i as in "eye")

From Nature -- Kumquat

From the Palatte -- Burlywood

Following Madonna's trend -- Dorcas

I'm linking to this, to put the power of the blogosphere behind the effort.

Nathan, FOB is an acronym for Fresh off the boat. I'm not sure that one would work. :-)

Posted by: Patrick at June 23, 2004 09:06 AM

Yeah, I think I'll go ahead and veto that one, then...

D.K. ("dee-kay")

Posted by: j.scott barnard at June 23, 2004 12:29 PM

How about "Chuck?"

Posted by: Craig at June 23, 2004 03:22 PM

"Fob" is also an actual name, as in former Alabama Governor Fob James (founder of DP Fitness Products as well, if memory serves, which it sometimes is known to do).

I'd say go with something like "chalupa" or the ever-popular "gimpy."
