Stuff You Might Have Missed

Tony features a cool little gadget that will probably start showing up in the big corporate toy stores pretty soon. Not only is the pocket-sized server a cool idea, but also it actually sounds useful.

I've never been terribly worried about global warming. The overheated (heh) rhetoric and fears just seemed to be a bit premature. Phil has some interesting observations on the subject. And I'm linking to him even though he didn't show up at the bash and didn't collect his free drink. He shall be punished later.

Val links to a brilliant photo essay. Take the time; it's worth it.

Jeff Trigg notes that Bush still isn't on the Illinois ballot. And politics in Illinois are just nasty.

Continuing the Old Folks for the Preservation of Metal theme, dig this. (Seventh Son Eddie.)

Lastly, something is broken, indeed. When it comes to drug policy, we Americans really do need to address the issues. For clarity, though, I have to note that I don't think the laws are racist, but I do think that the application of the law is effectively racist.

Old Folks for the Preservation of Metal, indeed!

You did notice that the last question didn't ponder anyone born before 1978.

Punk-ass kids.

Dang whippersnappers.

I did notice that. And it hurt.

I know. I blew it. My weekend got totally screwed up with a wedding and a cross-country trip. I knew I couldn't handle all that on a hangover, so I wussed out.

How about double or nothing? Now I have to buy you two drinks at the next bloggerbash.

BTW, thanks for the link. The entry in question was written by my co-blogger, Stephen Gordon. Of course, I'm sure he doesn't mind being called Phil. (Who would?)

Phil, oops. Let's just call it even and hope that the next bash fits in with your schedule a bit better. After a cross-country trip and all the, ahem, celebrating that goes along with a wedding, I completely understand why you might have been a bit too tired to attend.

"I'm sure he doesn't mind being called Phil."

Yeah, I don't too hung up on names. I had a buddy back in college that called me "Stew." I think when I introduced myself as "Steve" he heard "Stew" and that was it. It was funny so I never corrected him.

So yeah, if I'm being called for dinner, I'll answer to "Phil."
