Who's Coming?

Rocky Mountain Blogger Bash is almost upon us, and all the drunken, loutish behavior that implies.

Tell me something: who will be attending?

No, really, I wanna know.

Check out the Official Walter Post.

Oh, I wish I were. Damn finals.

Posted by: Julia at May 24, 2004 12:35 PM

Looks like some of the HM servers are hosed at the moment (mine and Walter's included). Phooey.

Posted by: andy at May 24, 2004 02:40 PM

If you'll let me know when and where . . .

I'll raise a frosty glass of Tilted Kilt Ale at the appointed time. Oh how I wish I were independently wealthy!! ::: sigh :::

Posted by: Emma at May 24, 2004 06:01 PM

Erm, what time? Is there a map? What's the cost? How much are drinks? Is it a full bar? What kind of beers?

Info. Yes. I crave more of it. Please.

And yes, I and protein wisdom wife will be in attendance. protein wisdom baby will not be, however.

I am toying with the idea of showing up. I think it'd be a hoot! I just have to convince the girlfriend that we can wait until Saturday morning to drive out the Buena V to camp for the weekend. I'm not sure she'll understand....

Posted by: Corey at May 25, 2004 07:59 AM

I'd love to come, but I have to be at this thing at the Denver Press Club that night.

Posted by: Stephen Green at May 25, 2004 10:41 AM

Man, that's tough. All of us heading down to the Press Club are really gonna miss you....

Posted by: zombyboy at May 25, 2004 11:31 AM

I'll be flying in from California to attend.

...And boy will my arms be tired!

[rimshot]

Goodnight folks, drive safely. See you on Friday!

Posted by: Ed Driscoll at May 25, 2004 12:20 PM

I'll be there with bells on. Literally.

Posted by: dorkafork at May 25, 2004 01:47 PM

Um. I bet you'll look pretty? Er.

Never mind.

Posted by: zombyboy at May 25, 2004 01:49 PM

On behalf of those who are unable to attend, I have one word to say: PICTURES! LOTS AND LOTS OF PICTURES!

Posted by: Beck at May 25, 2004 03:08 PM

I'm planning on attending. Once again, though, I expect to be sans girlfriend for the evening.

Posted by: wheels at May 25, 2004 05:10 PM

I'll probably be there. Question. Did you want us to email? Because I don't see your email address anywhere.

Posted by: Bill at May 25, 2004 05:24 PM

I'll be there.

Geez, we sound like a old Jackson5 record with a skip in it.

Apropos of Andy's request, as relayed by Steve, FreedomSight is a blog about personal liberty, particulary issues related to personal arms, and privacy.

Posted by: jed at May 25, 2004 05:25 PM

You can either email me at zombyboy [at] resurrectionsong [dot] com or you can leave the info here. Both work equally well from my point of view.

Thanks for asking, Bill.

I must admit a bit of disappointment in my dashed plans. Being the visual person that I am, I was really looking forward to seeing all these bloggers in person. And I am especially disappointed to know that I will miss seeing Mrs. Protein Wisdom- they make such beautiful babies, I just had to see the mother of that baby! I also wanted to buy Stephen Green a drink since he won't serve me a link ;)-you know, the whole "Golden Rule" thing...Now I won't have the opportunity to tease Z about his driving or anything...Oh well, have fun everyone and yes! ppppppuuuuuuhhhhhleeeeeze take and post pictures.

Posted by: Rae at May 25, 2004 09:36 PM

I'm gonna be there.

Posted by: Robin Roberts at May 25, 2004 09:36 PM

As a new blogger, I was hoping to attend the bash, but alas my mother thinks I need to tour the Colorado cemetaries this weekend and "visit" the relatives. Yes, I am capable of saying no to my mother, but two of the people on the cemetary circuit are my two very religious and saintly (but dead) grandmothers and why risk the wrath of God? "Dead grandmothers" -- I can't believe I actually typed that.

Posted by: Suzy at May 25, 2004 10:57 PM

I'll be there, with Beth. Even rearranged my on-call schedule for it.

I am too still a blogger, shut up! I put up, err, one post this month.

Posted by: Matt Moore at May 26, 2004 04:09 AM

I'm gonna try to make it, though what with the revolution & all my schedule's been freaky (so many libertarian-esque conspiracies to implement, so little time - I don't see how those damned neo-cons do it!)

Publicola is a blog about Rights; specifically the Right to Arms. To give you an idea of the content I constantly rag the NRA for not being pro-gun enough. & for the record I prefer the term "absolutist" to extremist, though I'll answer to both as long as it's not collect. (& I do try to keep the bad jokes off my site, though nothing is guaranteed).

So 7'ish till when? Any cover? Any minimum? Any maximum on bad puns? DJ or band? Formal, casual, clothing optional? Will there be a floor show? & if so what the hell can a floor do to entertain people? etc...

Posted by: Publicola at May 26, 2004 05:16 AM

Babysitting has come through, so I'm there. Note to planners: the next RMBB needs to be scheduled on a night my wife hasn't already booked some important, all-girl function two months in advance. That said, my blog's description:

At TimBerglund.com I pose as a political pundit and Evangelical thinker. For good measure I write an occasional short essay on family life, and I feature regular updates on my pursuits in zymurgy and amateur astronomy.

I'll be there along with my wife. Getting back into the blogging swing of theings. Confessions of a Flabby Colosotan Ironman is basically a stream of consciousness blog about triathlon, film, marriage, transitioning to Colorado from Minnesota, the Colorado Springs Film Society and whatever else happens to flit through my mind.

I'll be there along with my wife. Getting back into the blogging swing of things. I took a bit too much time off.

err... sorry about that. Stupid Safari. But I will be there!

Posted by: Brian Behm at May 26, 2004 11:34 PM

I'll be there as well.

Posted by: Andrew at May 27, 2004 05:48 PM

Heh. Guess I should read what you're looking for before I post. AndrewOlmsted.com is a site devoted to philosophy, politics, the Army, baseball, and movies, and whatever else I decide to write about.

Posted by: Andrew at May 27, 2004 06:09 PM

Amygdala is about what strikes my whim. My whim tends to include a lot of news, politics, books, science fiction, strange or interesting science, news of the weird, pop culture stuff, including both sf and "sci-fi" movies, comic books, strange fandoms, neuroscience, nanotech, history of all sorts, archeology, space exploration, biographies, and the ever-important Whatnot.

My politics have been characterized, by people leaping to a quick judgement, as liberal, conservative, libertarian, socialist, Democratic, Republican, with an occasional communist and nuts, thrown in. All have a certain degree of truth. I don't buy political views as a package, but go issue by issue, in a practical way, backed up by certain principles, including a strong belief in civil liberties. I'm for as much libertarianism as is reasonable within a context of social justice, and as much social justice as is reasonable within a context of individual freedom.

Although knee-jerk liberalism bores me (knee-jerk anything bores me), and I'm not signed on to a number of liberal cliches, I don't think "liberal" is a dirty word.

I was cautiously supportive of the Iraq War, but think the Bush Administration has bungled it terribly. I seek the election of a new Administration, however problematic it will be.

I'll drink Coke or Pepsi. For more info, see my blog, over a period time, as my passions wax and wane.

Too late. The little flier things are already done and printed. Your site is mentioned, but not with such a flowery description.

Posted by: zombyboy at May 28, 2004 09:29 AM

Is it time for cocktails yet?

Posted by: Stephen Green at May 28, 2004 11:39 AM

Whadya mean? I already started...
