resurrectionsongApril 28, 2004Feeling...Mighty...Cranky...My Mark Lanegan, well-documented to this point, has taken an odd turn. Isobel Cambell, formerly of Belle and Sebastian, has released an EP in Europe that includes a duet with Mr. Lanegan--and the song is getting rave reviews. Why, oh why, evil Record Industry, is this a Europe only release? I might find myself hunting through the better Denver-area record stores this week in a search for an import CD that probably isn't there. All for one song. See, I always thought that Belle and Sebastian was just a bit too self-conscious and twee for my taste, and I have no reason to believe that Campbell's solo work will be much different. Being the Lanegan-obsessive that I am, though, I have an almost uncontrollable compulsion to find a way to get that damned song. At moments like this, I truly appreciate the download a song model of iTunes. I just wish the offerings were a bit more diverse. (And, yes, I realize that this is terribly irrelevant whining on my part. Sorry.) Posted by zombyboy at April 28, 2004 12:02 AM | TrackBackComments
Being the Belle & Sebastian fan that I am, I will have to locate this CD. The Philadelphia area shall also be scoured. If I find it, I'm sure we can find a way to get you a copy of your one song. Maureen is my hero at this very moment... Of course, I'll still be looking this weekend, too. It'll be a race! Posted by: zombyboy at April 29, 2004 11:54 AMI found it on Amazon, but then there's all that waiting while it ships. And ordering it kind of takes the fun out of going to all the record stores. (And buying other CDs.) Posted by: Maureen at April 29, 2004 12:59 PMPost a comment
