resurrectionsongApril 12, 2004Useless ObservationI know it's a bit on the "that is so five minutes ago" side, but I really enjoy the Hummer ads with the kid in the soap-box derby off-roader. Aside from being quirky and fun in a Wes Anderson/Rushmore kind of way, it also features one of The Who's best songs, "Happy Jack." ![]() Check out the ad for yourself. Best ad ever, just edging out the Quizno's spongemonkeys and the pepper bar. Posted by: Jeff G at April 13, 2004 01:35 AMA kid in a Ford Bronco soapboxer could've beat him. Posted by: McGehee at April 13, 2004 07:32 AMPersonally, I hate the commercial and cringed every time it came on. Yeah, buy a Hummer because it's okay to cheat by following the letter of the rules while blowing the spirit of the rules all to hell. The fact that even after hearing it 300 times, I still couldn't understand the lyrics has something to do with my dislike, I'm sure. Yeah, I'm a little cranky this morning. Why do you ask? Posted by: nathan at April 13, 2004 09:13 AMThe long version of the commercial is like a short film, and very cool. --s Posted by: scott at April 13, 2004 10:54 AMI always snicker when I see a "Hummer" drive by- always a man driving it. (*snickering even now*) Posted by: Rae at April 13, 2004 10:58 AMRae, *truly laughing aloud* Posted by: Rae at April 14, 2004 11:51 AMPost a comment
