The Modern Face of the Left

Behavior like this is becoming far more common in left-leaning groups:

Several hundred people stormed the small yard of President Bush's chief political strategist, Karl Rove, yesterday afternoon, pounding on his windows, shoving signs at others and challenging Rove to talk to them about a bill that deals with educational opportunities for immigrants.

Protesters poured out of one school bus after another, piercing an otherwise quiet, peaceful Sunday in Rove's Palisades neighborhood in Northwest, chanting, "Karl, Karl, come on out! See what the DREAM Act is all about!"

So, perhaps I shouldn't be surprised when Allen, of Right Christians, strikes a solid blow for diversity of thought and expression by making the following statement about someone who was having a polite discussion about Presidents Bush and Clinton:

Excuse my being really horrible, but are you real? This particular excerpt is so far out of the range of my reality that I have a little difficulty accepting it as legitimate blogging:

Book shopping is next to shoe shopping in the thrill of the hunt. There are so many similarities. So many choices, styles, colors. Some are comfy, some aren't so comfy but look so damn good you have to wear them! Some are for going out in and some are for stepping out in. Some are quick and easy. Others are a little more challenging.

So this is the female vote in the Republican party? Seems too stereotyped to be real. Maybe I'm just in a mean mood.

A personal attack on someone's enjoyment of shopping may be good for cheap laughs when you're preaching to your choir, but it is far less than polite or useful in actually having a conversation. No, sir, you weren't just in a mean mood, you were just being a jerk.

Frankly, I think he owes Rae a bit of an apology for his behavior. Not that I expect she will get one, nor do I think Allen cares what this "right wing" (see the last comment) site has to say on the subject. After all, he is a "right Christian" which seems to mean that his word is only one step removed from God's--an arrogance that is astounding.

And just for the record, I could write volumes on the subject of being a shopaholic. I hope that doesn't immediately disqualify me from intelligent political conversation in the future.

"Zombyboy" will be the next name added to the Blogging Knights of the Round Table. As you already own a white horse and understand the etiquette required of the members, no initiation ceremony required.

Thank you, Z.

I'd say he owes her more than a bit of an apology.

I'd say he owes her crawling over broken glass on the Town Square at noon to see if maybe — just maybe — she'll accept.

Now that I think about it, I think you're right...

whoa whoa whoa. Not so fast. "Behavior like this is becoming far more common in left-leaning groups"? This was not a representation of the "left", it was a specific group of individuals who want new educational rights for the children of immigrants/illegal aliens/etc.

OTOH, Rove should have relished the opportunity, since the bush administration is constantly pandering to Vincente Fox. But this goes to solidify my theory that such pandering is just to guarantee an unending supply of cheap labor to the US, nothing more.
