Most Interesting Comment of the Day

On the My Big Fat Obnoxious Guilty Feelings post, this comment came in this morning:

I was the lucky person that the show chose to create the wedding cake (my business is called Sugar, located in Santa Barbara Calif.). We were kept completely in the dark throughout the whole process. I remember I was rather taken aback when I first saw the "happy" couple walking across the lawn... Steve didn't exactly fit into the stereotypical Hollywood "Barbie and Ken" mold that so many shows tout. But when I watched them interact, I thought, "Oh, ok I get it...he makes her laugh. Cool." Needless to say I was pretty shocked when I actually saw the show. I still think Steve was funny. It's too bad that Randi couldn't relax and have fun with it! I have a pic of the cake on my website if anyone wants to see it. :)

I have to admit that, while the site doesn't precisely suit my design tastes, the cakes that they make are gorgeous. It's worth taking a peek at some of their creations.

A few days back, there seemed to be an official endorsement craze sweeping the 'sphere, and I never quite got around to joining in the fun. Consider this my official endorsement for Sugar Cakes as the most beautiful, artistic cakes I've ever seen. If they taste as wonderful as they look, it's no wonder that they were chosen for Steve and Randi's "wedding." If I ever do get married (again), they would be my first choice to provide the cake.

Sugar's main site.

Can I just say that I think it so sweet that you are interested in what cake would be presented for your wedding?

Not many males say a cake is beautiful (or care what is consumed at their nuptials)...I think there is a very creative/artistic Zombyboy inside this political/civic writer.

Oh, and yes, the cakes are incredible!

I was telling R about this post and my comment and he suggested that I change "sweet" to "thoughtful." He's not sure he would want to be referred to as such; thinks it more for the ladies. The latter is more egalitarian.

So, motion made, seconded, approved. "Thoughtful" it is.

(I thought I already said this last night, but....I guess not. I even checked other comments to make sure I'm not pulling a bovine palpater comment screw-up again.)
