Where's My Freakin' Cake?

Three more authors, 1850 posts, 5146 comments, and one year later, you are here.

Thanks to everyone who has helped make the site fun for me. Thanks to everyone who has commented, sent me stories, or linked to our posts. Thanks to StumpJumper, OpinionEngine, and, now, Julia, for joining in and helping out.

As I'm looking back and celebrating what has happened, I see that this is a great opportunity to think about how better to improve the site. While ResurrectionSong has had some measure of success, has been read by an quite a few people, and maintains a pretty solid flow of traffic, my own personal ambitions for anything I undertake never end with "some measure of success."

While I am still planning our next steps, some of the things that I can guaranty are that:

On ResurrectionSong the writing will improve. Not only will I look to add more authors on occasion who will help meet that goal, but I will do my best to improve my own offerings.
ResurrectionSong will never be an echo chamber. Here, debate is welcome, dissent is appreciated, and comments are what keep us going. Unless you are rude or attack us, you will never be shouted down.
ResurrectionSong will continue to grow as a community. We truly appreciate those people who have involved themselves with ResurrectionSong--those people who comment, who link and discuss opposing views, and who have made the site a daily read. Whether it was to agree or disagree with us, when you have done so in a friendly manner, you have become part of our circle of friends. We thank you.
Finally, ResurrectionSong will never stop offering you the latest Mark Lanegan news. Of course, that probably goes without saying.

Thank you everyone. If you have any suggestions, comments, or ideas, never hesitate to leave them or send them to me. I will always consider them, although I may not always implement them.

And welcome to the second year of ResurrectionSong. I hope we can make it even better than the first.
