My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance?

I had a gentleman from the Census Bureau asking me questions this evening (my address has been selected to participate in the CPI indexing). He was polite and quick and the questions were relatively painless. When he left, I turned on the television to be greeted by the last twenty minutes of My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance. Now, I don't usually indulge in reality TV, but I caught this where the big fat guy of the title was trying to encourage the woman (who is deceiving her family and friends in hopes of winning a million dollars) to watch him dancing naked.

This isn't good TV, but it's awfully damned funny.

So I watched those twenty minutes, and I figured that the big fat guy really didn't like the girl all that much. He seemed to be doing everything in his power to make her absolutely despise him.

I'm convinced that the name of the show should really be Revenge of the Big Fat Ugly Guy.

Nope, this isn't good TV, but it's awfully damned funny.

Read my updated opinion here.

I'm sensing jealousy here, as if you wish it were Revenge of the Cranky Obnoxious Zomby.

I caught a few minutes of the show also and I agree, some of stuff the fat guy was doing was damned funny.

SJ, there might just be some truth to what you're saying...

I call it Big Fat Obnoxious Television, and reach for the DVDs.

So far, "My Big, Fat, Obnoxious Fiance" is the best reality show I have ever seen or viewed this long. One thing, there's actually a fat, unatractive guy in the show, unlike many other moronic reality shows. Second, what goes on is hilarious and only accumulates episode after episode, joke after joke. I saw a commercial for the next episode, and it displayed Steve coming out of a wardrobe practically half-dressed and walks toward Randi's dad like that. This is, of course, a grotesque sight to see, but it is nonetheless hilarious. Steve and his gang of actors acting like family and friends produce the majority of the jokes, but the reactions from Randi and her friends and family are sometimes funny as well. Third, the first impressions the actors make on Randi and her family/friends is something that makes them think,"Hey, he's/they're nice and very polite and well educated", but the next second, the actors use their skills to seem like the rudest, most unbelievable people imaginable. This is one element in the show that is so great. I applaud at the actor's abilities to perfectly become rude, inconsiderate, ill-manned, etc. people. They are witnessing and even causing the suffering and torture Randi and her family/friends must endure, yet they play their parts marvelously and never reveal the entire secret. One particular scene I like a great deal is when Steve's family comes and they are served wine. Even though Steve has been specifically instructed not to tell his family that he and Randi are getting engaged, after he quickly guzzles down the wine, he blurts out, "Mom. Dad. Were geeting engaged." Also, the entire croquet scene with Steve and Randi's family (excluding Randi) is just absoulutely funny. Even though the show is downright hilarious, I get a strong feeling that the show is scripted, planned, and staged. Nonetheless, the show is extremely funny and I plan to watch every minute of it

I watched the fist episode and was hooked! I have watched every single one since and I can't wait for the ending!

This is the best reality show I have seen. I love it and can't wait for the next one. I think that Randi's family, or at least her siblings are in on the joke. I hope she gets the money after all that she has been through.

I loved this show. Saw it from the start and got hooked on it. The expressions on Randi's face and how her eyes did the talking. She is a very beautiful young lady. Steve, he is also very handsome, but the things he would do LOL.

I watched most of this series including the final episode last night. Randi's parents and siblings acted immature and just plain rude at the marriage ceremony. So what if she was marrying someone that didn't live up to their expectations, so what if the marriage failed. I'm sure that they would be the first to say "I told you so.! I thought the show was terrible based on their sad old attitudes. They did turn around thought when they learned about the bucks!!
