Ramsey Clark is Completely Off His Nut

Did we need more proof that Ramsey Clark has completely lost his mind? I mean, really?

Former U.S. Attorney General Ramsy Clarke expressed readiness Sunday, December 14, to act as defense lawyer for ousted Iraqi president Saddam Hussein, with western analysts suspecting the captured leader would be given fair trial.

"Certainly, why not. I am ready to act in his defense," Clarke told IslamOnline.net shortly after the U.S. confirmed the detention of Saddam near Tikrit.

Clarke, currently in Cairo to attend a two-day international anti-occupation conference, stressed that Saddam – however brutal – should be give a "fair, objective and impartial trial".

"Saddam must be domestically prosecuted first and - if this fails - he should be referred to an international court," said the former American official, known for his staunch opposition to the U.S.-led invasion and occupation of Iraq.

He doubted, however, that the ousted Iraqi president would be given such a fair trial.

Clarke averred that neither the U.S.-installed Interim Governing Council (IGC) nor the occupation forces is eligible to try the overthrown president.

"The GC does not represent Iraq. It is Bush's council," said the former U.S. attorney general.

Amazing to think that this was once a rational, intelligent man who served as Attorney General. Now, he's clamoring to be defense council to a mass murderer--and, in the attempt, attacking those who brought the murderer to justice.

Of course, for Ramsey, a hard-core anti-American lefty of the communist persuasion, nothing could possibly be worse than watching a conservative administration doing well in the rebuilding of Iraq.

Well, good for the rest of us. In all honesty, behavior like this only alienates Ramsey and his anti-war organization from the greater portion of the rest of the world. Most people, even those vehemently opposed to the war, can see the good in Hussein being captured and in an Iraqi court to try him for his many legal sins. The greatest portion of the United States will only look on this latest Ramsey Clark lunacy with disdain.

Read the story.

Ramsey Clark.

Let's see -- he was opposed to the first Gulf War.

I'm almost tempted to think his position on the Iran hostage crisis is that we had it coming.

No word yet on how he felt about Pearl Harbor.

He's the kind of fruitcake that makes Christmas fruitcake look good.

I hope Saddam gets the very best legal representation, so we can feel just that much better when we gets a swift trip to the gallows.

Absolutely. His neck-stretching ceremony shouldn't be sullied by questions about his representation. Since Clark is so apparently insane, though, that rules him right out.

I think even Johnnie Cochran wouldn't touch this case.

"If he did this thing, he's got to swing!"
