Someone will have to explain the appeal of InstaPundit to me some day. Honestly, I don't find his site all that useful. I'd call it more of a portal than a blog. But, hey, that's just me.

More than anything, he points to a lot of interesting thoughts that I wouldn't otherwise find.

I don't know. Combustible Boy got a Lilekslanche once. I use Instapundit precisely as a portal, SJ. "Heh", "Indeed", and "Exactly" aren't punditry to me. Glenn is fed a lot of stuff, and he can pick and post from it pretty easily. Therefore it does provide great content value.

He's fed a tremendous amount of information--I wonder if he has someone screen emails for him? I've been lucky enough to have one full blown link and one "update" link. I figure that's a lot of eyes that otherwise would not have read the posts, and that makes me happy.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Lileks hasn't yet noticed this here blog. Yeah, pretty damned positive, actually.

I'd like to see the stats as far as whether or not many readers who visit via an instalanche actually continue on as regular readers. I have a feeling that by and large, they don't.

In general, I know that they don't. With both of the times I was linked, I generally saw the installanche followed by a small rise in general readership. This time was a huge flood of hits over two days, and then a bump of maybe about 20 visits a day.

The difficult thing to figure from that, though, is just how much of that is natural growth and how much is people who decided they wanted to read me regularly. Probably not too many new regular readers could really be attributed to the Instapundit link.

I rather like the name Zombyboy. Imagine being lost amongst all those others with your real name.

I think that if Instapundit ever linked to my little blog that doesn't even have 800 hits yet I would probably scream like a school girl and then pass out.
