Palestinians Inviting Israeli Military Action

I was going to try to leave the homicide bombing mostly alone. What is there to be said that hasn't already been said by me, by another blogger, or by someone a hundred other times about a hundred other terrorist bombings.

But I can't hold it in--I'm too angry when I read things like this in The Sydney Morning Herald:

The Palestinian Prime Minister, Mahmoud Abbas, the killing as "an ugly crime", and said it undermined his planned campaign against militants. "We strongly condemn this action because it does not serve peace. Such operations negatively affect all the plans that the Palestinian Authority is undertaking."

Hamas swiftly vowed revenge. "The assassination of Abu Shanab is also the assassination of the ceasefire," Ismail al-Haniyah, a senior Hamas official, said in Gaza. "The Hamas movement holds the Zionist enemy fully responsible for the consequences of its crime."

Why does it anger me? Because Israel was acting in good faith over the last few weeks at our urging. Because Israel even relented on the prisoner release. Because Israel stayed at the bargaining table and had faith that these terrorist bastards would actually keep their word.

How were they rewarded for this faith? They were rewarded with a bomb that tore apart women and children--and, somehow, reacting to that ugly act of cowardice is what ended the cease fire.

Pardon me, but fuck Hamas, fuck the PLO, fuck the lying, cowardly bastards who expect the US to continue urging Israel to turn the other cheek.

Throughout the peace process, I've continually said that I understand the need to compromise, I understand the need to show restraint, and I understand the importance that this process has for the Middle East, specifically, and the world, in general.

I'm all out of understanding. The Arab nations that continue to decry Israel's attempts to defend herself never manage to speak out against the horrors of terrorists bombing busses, never manage to acknowledge the compromises that Israel does make, and never manage to care that Jewish bodies are scattered and broken by Palestinian bombs.

The Israeli government not only has the right to defend its citizens from known terrorists, but the obligation to do so. The only question is, what message can be sent that will be strong enough to convince the Palestinians that their "leaders" are most certainly not acting in their best interests?

Read the story.

I don't have to read the story. And depending on what news outlet you are listening to, during the news breaks while listening to Rush and then Hannity, the bias towards Israel is out there in the main stream press. Watch Fox News only for our news to get the truth.

BTW, you did a superb job, and I couldn't agree more with you. Well done!

P.S. Put you on my blog, if that is okay.

The only thing that will sway the Palestinians is flaming violent death. Isreal should take the gloves off and handle their business. Fuck what the rest of the world has to say - it's not their citizens getting murdered.

Pardon me if I may, but compared to how the United States is doing in Iraq, Israel has done quite a good job on Hamas, comparatively, of course. Three successive leaders dead in five months!

Seriously, though. The majority of Israelis surveyed say that they want to find ways to coexist with Palestine. The majority of Palestinians surveyed want the Jews to be utterly destroyed. What really pisses me off, though, is that there are fuckheaded stoner college students right here in the US waving banners and flags in favor of these murdering fuckwads. I personally have never condoned flag burning. I think that it's a childish and immature practice that only someone who's afraid of actually going out and fighting for what the believe in would do. But, in the case of Palestine, with all of their suicide bombers, anti-simetic hate reminiscent of the Nazi regime, and their militias that they've enlisted their 10-year-olds in, I'd be more than willing to make an exception. Eventually, there will be a point when the two will no longer be able to last in this stalemate, and one will have to defeat the other in an extremely violent war. When that does happen (in the past fifty years, all the peace talks have gotten us is a nation full of militant Muslims who want to kill all Jews solely because Mohammad the Fuckhead told them to), I just hope we have a REAL Republican back in office by that time.
