Marriage, the Vegas Way

I got married in Vegas. No, Elvis wasn't the officiant. No, it wasn't a drive-thru job. No, it wasn't all the stereotypical things you might imagine about a Vegas wedding. Honest.

It was tasteful, wonderful, and emotional. Even given the fact that just a few floors below, a pirate ship was battling in the waterways of Treasure Island Casino. My bride looked breath-taking in her dress, I looked like--well, like me stuffed into a tuxedo. It still stands as one of the most wonderful days of my life, tarnished only by the little regret of having waded through the aftermath.

That was my Vegas wedding experience.

Garden of Love, Chapel of Dreams, Crystal Cathedral.

The names evoke images of love, marital bliss, piety.

But accusations by proprietors of those and other Las Vegas wedding chapels portray a cutthroat industry beset by assaults and death threats — sometimes even on the county's courthouse steps.

Now that sounds like a way to woo customers...

"We have reports from chapels and employees of cars being paintballed, fights, tires being slashed," [Las Vegas police Sgt.] Fricker said. "The whole thing is bizarre, and trying to get to the bottom of it is difficult."

Next, maybe they'll start threatening the couples. "Hey, youse guys don' come and get hitched at da House of Love, we'll be sendin' Louis out to greet ya at da hotel, okay?"

Ah, Vegas, such a wonderful, magical place...

Read the story.

That is way better than our wedding in Vegas. I didn't wear a white gown or a dress of any sort. We purchased our rings in one of the pawn shops near the chapel. All the glamour didn't matter too much.
Anyway mine very boring compared to your image

As much as I might differ with Z on the specifics of marriage in general (and sometimes on his specifically), his wedding was rather nice, actually (even if I didn't score with the bride's sister). It was a nice ceremony and everyone had a lot of fun. I remember those couple of days rather fondly. It's unfortunate that the idea of a "Vegas wedding" always elicits the worst kind of imagery.

My wife talks from time to time about renewing our vows. Maybe I'll send her this link and suggest Vegas, with a mobster theme.

Ahhh, Kevin. The things you could do with the St. Valentine's Day Massacre theme.

Oh, we've already done that. Jeez, you forget to pick up one lousy greeting card...

Internet connections, photo related software and discount are more likely to use an Internet photo website generlogies to have prints or photo gifts made from them. A Photo lowest Marketing Association survey says that 37.6% of digital airfare camera owners have order
