Dave Barry Ate My Mother's Toes

I couldn't help but join in the fun (and, damnit, I can write bad poetry with the best of 'em). Okay, most of you know the drill:

  1. Dave Barry
  2. Pen name Freemont
  3. "The dog ate my mother's toes"

If you need more than that, Michele explains it best.

This is my entry (I'm so proud of my bad poetry!):

A Blacker Dog
Dark spite and brilliant stars
fill my sky.

I am falling.

No dreams tonight
of the coal black dogs
of dogs eating mother's toes.
of the flowers I left at her grave.

And in the music of my anger,
I know that it is the berry's fault
that my mother had to die.

Search for more Freemonts here on the poetry site. There's some really bad stuff in there.

"torn" by Freemont Merovingian

I am empty here, shying from the night: finding my way through this hateful angst, heart so black and black. The dog ate my mother's toes.

this darkness so heartless,
a red hole,
tossed off;
The dog ate my mother's toes.

yet I wish for
your warmth so vital.
The dog ate my mother's toes.

The dog ate my mother's toes.

"The Goth-O-Matic Poetry Generator" (http://www.deadlounge.com/poetry/) is my new favorite site!

Zom, what name did you use?

Posted by: McGehee at July 17, 2003 02:17 PM

David Cornelius Freemont, if I remember correctly.

Hey, where the hell did it go?

It was there yesterday, damnit...

Posted by: zombyboy at July 17, 2003 02:20 PM

Alright, damnit, I'm putting it in again...

Heh. It's showing that it's there, but it doesn't show up when I search for my name.

Here's the URL:

A Blacker Dog.

That search URL doesn't work, BTW -- I originally linked it myself and just wound up with the first 100 A's.
