resurrectionsongJuly 08, 2003Not Quite a TragedyAccording to ABC News, Matthew Lovett, the teen accused of masterminding a plan to go on a killing spree with a few friends in Oaklyn, NJ, left a very interesting note that might explain his actions.
So, he had a messianic complex of sorts (he also signs the letter "the antichrist") and an unhealthy obsession with The Matrix. In The Matrix, Neo is fighting against the enslavement of the human race. What was Matthew rising up against?
Ah, yes... I always hated chores, too. Let's just be thankful that these kids were even more incompetent than the bastards from Columbine. Initially, I was planning to ignore these guys--they didn't get around to killing anyone, and, in fact, couldn't even manage to hijack a car. Then I started hearing about how much these kids were teased. Please. This is for the high school students that might be contemplating their own mini-apocalypse:
